I think you gave that man some extra years and extra years for his kids to be with their Dad, Without your support this may have happened very early in the piece. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of this man to our community but you went above and beyond, I am sure he and his family appreciate your kindness and compassion.
Another Golden Echidna might be in order for Mick. Even when the result turns sour, we ought to recognise the nobility of what he did.

I couldn’t begin to feel your sorrow. I can only extend my sympathies.
Sometimes life gives us the rare priviledge of accompanying those who live with the inner torment of unknown and unknowable demons. Of understanding that, at times, we helped keep the demons at bay. Perhaps, for your friend they were ” the best of times “. You may never quite realise how much pain and terror you kept at bay, over many years. I’m sure your friend did.
What many see as a hill, others see as a mountain or even a precipice. What most will take to be a plateau, a safe haven. Others will see only the edge of the precipice. I am sorry your friends demons drove him over the edge.
I grieve that the demons, so prevalent, yet so ignored, flourish in our lives.
I should stress that I wasn’t the only one of our group to help Al, several others did too.

The harassment of the bikies just struck close to home, when a breathalyzer test came up negative there was an immediate “Oh but you just…..” and rattled off a traffic charge which wasn’t true but how can you prove it.

leonetwo – I believe it, I’ve seen plenty of interview guests in TV studios wear earpieces, same as in radio studios (when they are also being filmed, to avoid the clunky larger headphones). This Tony getting his lines meme is a total waste of time.

Sometime in the next few days I will tell you a good story, one with a great ending. I had only a passing role in it, but it is a reassuring tale of just how many good people there are in the community, and just how much they are prepared to do when given the opportunity.

You weren’t a wet blanket at all. Besides, The Pub isn’t supposed to be a place for fun fun fun: it’s a place where you can get support, consolation, and encouragement any time. Or just somewhere to hang out. Whatever your needs (within reason), they will – we hope – be met.
OK Pubsters – anyone thinking of sending Scott Morrison an email telling him politely what you think of his actions please take care.Have a look at this –
There are a lot more tweets, but I’Ill just summarise.
David Lewis says he’s just a 60 year old who deplores this government. He sent Morrison an email which he says was an objective assessment of his personality/character and policies, it was not threatening. He was contacted by an AFP agent who he has named and was asked to delete his email account, which he did. The agent then rang back after it was done and asked for personal information including his licence number. Mr Lewis complied and says he is really spooked by this and possible repercussions.
So now we can’t even express an opinion without being harassed and threatened. What’s next? Concentration camps for those who don’t grovel at the feet of Abbott and his ministers?
