    { Key minister Bill Shorten’s wife has agreed to lead the Women for Gillard group – as Mr Shorten faces pressure to defect to the Kevin Rudd camp.

    Chloe Bryce’s leadership of the new group, set up to campaign for Prime Minister Julia Gillard, would put Mr Shorten in a precarious position if he bowed to public calls for him to support a return to the former prime minister.

    Ms Bryce, also the daughter of Governor-General Quentin Bryce, is president of the board of Women for Gillard – modelled after the Women for Obama group that campaigned for Barack Obama in last year’s US presidential election. }

  10. I posted a couple of times on PB but have lurked here from the beginning. At the moment I feel I need to be around like minded people – thanks. Julia was betrayed by so so many and in the back of my mind I wonder if she was set up. Regardless, now what to do? I don’t feel like voting for Labor or the Libs yet in my mind I hear my late mothers words “Women fought hard for the vote don’t waste it” I will view all your further comments with interest.

  19. It is clear from what Bowen has said on 7.30, that Labor will be going to to the election, which all of Gillard’s policies intact.

    What has occurred, is that we have a new spokesman, nothing more.

    Could it be that Gillard has the last laugh, that she spent her time, not only mouse proofing from Abbott, but also from Rudd.

    Who cares what those Rudd supporters think of Gillard. Wonder if they realise, they will be voting for the fruits of Gillard’s labour.

    We now have two bullshit artist, fighting it out. Not much light between the two of them, except for the polices that Gillard has left behind.

    No wonder Gillard looked so relaxed at that breakfast this morning.

    History is going to have fun writing this woman up.

    Of curse Krudd will try to pass off Gillard’s reforms as his own. We have to make sure he doesn’t get away with that.

    He passed off as his own all the work she did for him while she was his deputy PM. This time he won’t have Julia Gillard there to do all the heavy lifting, he just has Albo. Albo is not a patch on Julia Gillard. It will be interesting to see how he copes.

  28. Who cares if he does. We know different. There was moment in Parliament today, another handshake, that should be as prominent, as that one of Latham and Howard.

    When Rudd come int the house. he paused to shake hands with Tanya. Her body stiffened, shook hands, no smile, and pulled her hands to her chest. I think the action was involuntary. I suspect Rudd picked up what occurred, as he quickly moved on. In that I must be wrong, as I do not believe Rudd sees the feelings of others.

    Another was watching the body language of Wong last night, when they came out with Rudd. She did her best to get as far behind as possible. Comfortable she did not look.

    We had ‘Bluebirds’ at work at some point in time – nice gearbox ratios.

    After first off the line you just gave the accelerator a quick push and whacked the stick – no clutch required! (and no damage).

  39. The treachery….that is the thing…Rudd destroyed the trust and confidence of his first caucus…and almost destroyed some careers…THAT was why he was dumped….Gillard gave great scope and positions even to those that betrayed her in the end…THAT was the treachery.
    The MSM. are now creating for him a false sense of security..waiting for their next BIG MOMENT STORY..the opp’n is holding back on it’s powder..it has learnt from being a spent force against Gillard…She had their number..
    Now we are being “reliably informed” by such filth as the MSM. that Rudd has the capacity to win the election…what a joke…what a laugh…as if their tick of approval is the magic, bullet all the while shielding Abbott in a cocoon of brushed verlour..: The bogan’s choice!….The whole program is a delusion relying on hope..and hope alone…that and the quaking fear of a cowardly caucus…God help us!…now we have BOTH sides of the house being run by a motley crew.
    But I tell you what…If one of the leaders wants to get the upper hand, they could convert to Morman and have TWO WIVES and a dozen kids to trot out to the media circus….Think of all that gender adoration.

    Darn right. It is why I have no truck with apologists for Australia’s uber racist policies in the past. Apologists say that “things were different back then” but there were plenty of people back then saying the equivalent of Mary Ann Müller when it comes to race. People chose not to listen.

    I will always say stand s for because they will always be her policies
    so why would u not vote for JG poliicies rudd can sell them to the public

  45. Fed up, I noticed that involuntary shrinking from Rudd by Tanya Plibersek. It was quite marked. Had the feeling she wanted to wash her hand after contact. I can imagine Penny Wong too finding herself shrinking from contact with him. I was interested in her absolutely straight account of how she finally decided she had to shift loyalty.
