I’s time someone, someone like Turnbull, sat on these nutters and put a stop to this racist hatred, before we all go down the same road as the USA. Australia needs a strong leader right now but we don’t have one. We have a preening poseur who has NFI of how to lead anything more than a cocktail party by Sydney Harbour, and even that would be left to his wife to organise.

Hadn’t checked out my control group for a while. Wow. Talk about group-think. The same people who wouldn’t dare hear a bad word spoken about Abbott all seem sooooo much happier now he’s gone. Even the lefties are warm and fuzzy about Turnbull. One of them claims Turnbull has changed his style since his last stint leading the party. Really??
One of them got the word from someone who got the word from someone who got the word from someone that there’s now great stability under Turnbull and they’re all very happy now. That was followed by a lot of speculation masquerading as analysis as to what this means for politics. No-one’s in any doubt that it’s true, even though it’s third-hand information. All great governments encourage input from their team, just like Howard don’t ya know etc etc…
Re Macfarlane defecting – ‘Aw, you know, he’s a good guy, won’t cause Mal any trouble, just wants a ministry, that’s all…’ They’d be happy to see Bernardi piss off too, apparently, he’s getting in the way of all that stability.
The thinking is roughly this:
Policies – “Huh?”
Brough – “Who?”
Economy – “Sure I read somewhere that it’s going gangbusters”
GST 15% – “Aw come on, Mal wouldn’t do that”
Stability – “The most important thing of all, hallmark of a great government”
Macfarlane, Brough, Bernardi, etc.. “Apart from those minor niggles, very stable”
I really can’t do anything with that. I’ll be steering clear of any of their discussions. They sound deluded.
Aguirre,
Deluded?
Nah, merely the msm’s kool-aid kicking in. Just as it did with abbott.
To be honest, they deserve the gummint they elect. A pity we have to put up with the consequences too.

The Decline and Fall of the Bogan Empire.
Oh, it’s not over yet!..These fluctuations of fortune by individual players within the LNP. are symptoms of the jockeying for power of the major factions trying to wrest control of the governing body so as to have unrestricted right to implement it’s selective policy of economic control on a population.
“ Modern Survivals of Prowess .
The leisure class lives by the industrial community rather than in it. Its relations to industry are of a financial rather than an industrial kind. Admission to the class is gained by exercise of the monetary aptitudes—aptitudes for acquisition rather than for serviceability. There is, therefore, a continued selective sifting of the human material that makes up the leisure class, and this selection proceeds on the ground of fitness for pecuniary pursuits. But the scheme of life of the class is in large part a heritage from the past, and embodies much of the habits and ideals of the earlier barbarian period. This archaic, barbarian scheme of life imposes itself also on the lower orders, with more or less mitigation. In its turn the scheme of life, of conventions, acts selectively and by education to shape the human material, and its action runs chiefly in the direction of conserving traits, habits, and ideals that belong to the early barbarian age—the age of prowess and predatory life. “……….Thorsten Veblen : Theory of the Leisure Class.
The militarising of a society is no more then an extension of control via economic domination. The promotion, enhancement, politicising and exercising of the arms of authoritarian policing is a complimentary action and intention in conjunction with labor-market control.
Along with the rhetoric of the need to “keep a lid on” wages demand, cost of living and budgetary control, is the language of “fiscal responsibility” , “wages blowout” and “labour market regulation”…familiar slogans from any LNP. political agenda. Almost de-rigueur whenever such unimaginative people gain power.
The rise of the bogan administrators with the coming to power of J.W.Howard, occurred simultaneously with the sudden appearance of external military threats from a vague, amorphous groups operating from vague amorphous headquarters which, strangely , were never really able to be pin-pointed!. This allowed the more barbarian military elements to call the shots regarding foreign policy and in some cases, influence domestic policy. This situation, after many disastrous decisions by both civil and military arms of the LNP. governments, have resulted in the now seeming embed of military/policing advisers into this current regime.
Let us ‘parse” in a practical sense, the above quote by Thorsten Veblen in regards to the current climate of LNP. policy..:
“The leisure class lives by the industrial community rather than in it. Its relations to industry are of a financial rather than an industrial kind…”
The reckless speculation and resultant economic / political control by those elements of the mining, energy, financial houses has seen political policy follow suite and implement administrative conditions most favourable to those houses, resulting in many areas of mining, financial and energy delivery systems in terrible destructive behaviour to both people and the environment, but very profitable to those houses and the people who run and profit off them. The unstoppable rise in renewable energy systems however, has thrown into panic some of those houses and time is now being granted to them to divest and “reload” their financial interests from “olde worlde fuel-cost driven” systems like coal, gas and even nuclear to “free-energy generation” systems like solar, wind etc.. The LNP. govt’ will give those houses all the time they need through fillibusting and stalling the inevitable until the “profit trolley” can be got back onto the rails for the usual suspects. Their interests are less in the manufacture of industrial technology, that the profit that can be gleaned from such technology.
“There is, therefore, a continued selective sifting of the human material that makes up the leisure class, and this selection proceeds on the ground of fitness for pecuniary pursuits.”
Recall the conga-line of LNP. financial / military suck-holes paraded before us night after night on their ABC., telling us what we need to do to “correct” any given situation. I don’t know about you, but myself, having reached retirement more or less intact of my senses, can say with confidence and experience that as soon as the majority of them opened their mouth to speak you could tell how hopelessly gormless they would be in employment in any situation above deep-sleep! The try-hard gravitas, the dull-eyed insincerity and in the case of one C.Pyne, ; the wrinkled-nose facile idiocy..like he was offended by the stench of even his own words! Barbarians in both intellect and intention..but cunning as the proverbial shit-house rat…an LNP. shithouse, that is! Crooks and speilers, hustlers and ponzi-scheme con-men who gutted many retirees of their life-savings, wannabe-generals and ditto pollies seeking ribbons and medals unrelated to effort or capability like a child seeks a gold-star stamp from the teacher. These are the bogans who thrive in a bogan empire of fatuous emptiness damn their eyes to Sheol!
“But the scheme of life of the class is in large part a heritage from the past, and embodies much of the habits and ideals of the earlier barbarian period.”
The rise of empire can in many case be less destructive than the fall. Many empires rise on the back of another or several others decline and gain their hold through the playing out of old scores and class status..”divide and rule”..But the decline of an empire, or what could be describe as the rotting out from within of an empire can be so much more destructive, as many factions and power-brokers slice and dice the corpse. In the interests of the plundering middle-class, that centres mostly around property.. You need an army to guard large holdings of property, either financial or real-estate..there-in lies the seamless weld between the military / policing arm of authority and the money-class.; “My property!..My rights!” The “scheme of life” most favourable to that order of status, demands that the major institutions of influence ie; civil governance, the judiciary, policing of imposed laws and the main-stream media, through both bias reporting and celebrity channeling of selective news and views , “imposes itself” via an appearance of normality which is “acceptable” policy and behaviour.
“In its turn the scheme of life, of conventions, acts selectively and by education to shape the human material, and its action runs chiefly in the direction of conserving traits, habits, and ideals that belong to the early barbarian age—the age of prowess and predatory life.”
That sentence speaks for itself in it’s perspicuity. We have seen the result of such carefully managed PR. campaigns , run side by side with the fear campaigns..we are still seeing them, even as the bogan empire falls apart, like when Saddam’s “minister of truth” was reassuring the world that there was no bombs dropping on Baghdad while behind him one could see the bleedin’ obvious with one’s own eyes! The LNP. world of the Empire of the Bogans is falling apart and the only thing that will hold it in place is a compliant MSM. and a strong authoritarian arm.
The Bogan Empire in Australia rose with J.W.Howard, it gained territory via the usual method of fear and security, it held ground through reward and bribery and now, in it’s decline it will try to use force and coercion to hold onto it’s ill-gotten and incompetently governed territory. It has marshaled its forces as never before seen in this country outside of the world-wars. It is in the process of dividing the nation, perhaps in preparation for it’s last chance at total control…: a barbarian internal conflict, pitching each of us against each other, yet standing protected and aloof, like an “Assad”, while our beautiful country goes down in flames.
NEVER!
Aguirre’s control group – no wonder they are the way they are. The MSM makes sure Australians stay uniformed and disinterested.
Yesterday Bill Shorten made a major speech about Labor’s innovation policy, a cheeky move because Turnbull is due to make his announcement on the same thing on Monday. It was a an excellent policy. The MSM pretty much ignored it.
The AFR ran with it, the rest of Fairfax – crickets.

And that was it. A major Labor policy all but ignored, given scant coverage by the MSM. Turnbull’s speech, which I expect to be nothing more than waffle with no real substance at all, will, of course, be treated as a new Sermon on the Mount from the New Messiah. It will be praised by the MSM, talked about on every talk show, written about by every Press Gallery type not yet on holidays.
Here’s Labor’s plan, because the MSM have made damn sure you didn’t get to hear much about it.

I should say, Leone, that my control group – like a lot of Australians, I suspect – treat politics as some kind of tournament of personalities. There’s a basic faith in political parties among most people, a belief that they’re all there to make our lives better, and just have different opinions about how to do it. So you can pick them as you would pick a football team, and barrack away to your heart’s content, without any real appreciation that your livelihood (and that of many others) depends on it.
Footy fans are fiercely parochial, and it’s not uncommon for both sets of fans to walk out of the same game fuming that the umpires favoured the ‘other’ team. Or that the players on the ‘other’ team cheated or sniped behind play. That same parochialism infects a lot of politics, and plenty of people believe that the ALP are ‘socialists/unionists’, the Greens are ‘misguided/naive’ or the Liberals are ‘mates of big business’, without giving any thought to what’s actually going on.
For a lot of people, Turnbull looks like a circuit-breaker. He’s supposedly a moderate who is going to drag the Liberals back to the centre. If you take any interest in Parliament, especially QT, you’ll see immediately that this isn’t true. But if you’re getting all your information filtered through the press or TV news, it sounds about right.
What I’m seeing is plenty of faith being put into Turnbull. Some really do think that the economy has improved simply as a result of him becoming leader. But that’s just what they want to believe. You usually can’t shake something somebody wants to believe. Turnbull is, of course, a past master at letting people down. He’s never achieved anything of note. He just happens to have that born-to-rule look about him.
At this stage I’d say it’s more likely that his party will tear him down than that the electorate will wake up.
I also still think Turnbull is very, very Ted Baillieu. As the Liberal Party continues to take on water and subside gently into the ocean, he’ll stand there in his dignified way, studiously ignoring the signs. A lot of his own MPs couldn’t give a rats about him. Some have been vocal about it, the rest will scamper off like rats when the going gets tough. He’s not really one of them, but he’s very useful to them at the moment.
