They even make life jackets for dogs:
It’s about time Rudd set the agenda, rather than fighting on Abbott’s turf and in Abbott’s preferred forums. He is the prime minister after all, so should be leading not following.
Excellent post, BB. Would you consider recycling it as the header post for the next thread? Hate to think anyone missed out on reading it.

Yes about 100mts.south.
I am not gloating about where I live with these pics,( BUT it is very nice) I am doing some tweaking of the site again.

NO has to have a web link

No worries, thanks for trying. I’ll work something out at this end.
KR has always been good at me-too-ism. Now we see him in fruit shops and bread shops. Soon he’ll try the fish markets. And he’s cutting business red tape, just like TA.
Joe6
Do you ever visit the River Cottage ( formerly Riverview) at Noosaville?
If not that is my tip for today.
Nice for me to see familiar places. I have been visiting Coolum since before there were traffic lights. lol
Don’t worry about being seen to gloat – they’re lovely pics and worth viewing.
Sometimes Port Macquarie can be a bit too quiet and peaceful. The big news this morning? Wazza Truzz fell over and needed Bandaids during a visit here. Yep, really, that’s the big news in the local paper – apart from a few bushfires that have been burning for days.

Joe,
We have noticed!
Mike,
You have email.
earlyopener
I haven’t dined there but I know where it is just back from the river.
My Tip which will tell me how my day will go is MR1-1 at not to bad a price
The hubris of Abbott is unbelieveable. He blames Julia for lack of standards in parliament. He needs to look into the mirror that Julia advised him to do.

Yes, I have email. Call me old fashioned but I’m the only one in the house without facebook though!
I’ve often wondered whether the injuries pollies display are self-inflicted. We’ve seen KR’s cut on his cheek and on his knuckle, and he seemed quite eagerly willing to show them.
Mike,
Moi has sent you an email …
Joe6
I’ve already backed No2 at the short price.
I probably shouldn’t as I had an email debate during the week with David Hayes – karma?
Message from Mike Hillard:

Just wanted to post up my Bertie, she’s a bit younger here. Now a little fatter & greyer but aren’t we all!
Early opener, went to River Cottage last Wed for lunch. Only three tables occupied. Good food and wine list. Will go again next week. Think it was better under previous owner when Riverview. Still enjoyed it.
Thanks Fiona. 🙂

Is this what they call “candle flame ears”?
Bertie is a georgous Tenterfield Terrier. awww, just wanna give her a huggles.
Happy 100th birthday to the Little Mermaid.

gigilene – her ears have a life of their own!
puffy – I knew you’d like her. She’s crossed with something but mostly Tenterfield. The girls & I got her from the doggy rescue. She is the best dog with kids, runs with the pack, catches balls & jumps through hoops & tolerates dress ups!
kk
I believe she has once been decapitated. Don’t know why but I immediately thought of JG.

Gotta zip – catch y’all this evening.

Fair dinkum….If the measure of a person’s intelligence is their capacity to construct a reasoned arguement peppered with clever witticisms and repartee…then I ask someone to give me an example of the same delivered by the LOTO anytime, anywhere, these last six years….not two examples..but ONE!
He’s not intelligent, he’s not smart..he’s not even politically saavy!…he’s just a dumb shit!…promoted by another lot of stupid, gullible shits!….who delude themselves that they will retain their jobs or even be rewarded if this criothan gains office!….now THAT is an example of blind stupidity…!
Too busy campaigning to deal with matters of national importance, Tony?

“It’s entirely appropriate that the Prime Minister is briefed on this. Julie Bishop, my deputy and the shadow foreign minister, will receive a briefing herself tomorrow from the secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that will cover these issues.
“Obviously I’m happy to receive briefings as well as the situation unfolds.”

Wendy Harmer says she just had to write this, and I’m so glad she did.

All the bullsh-t going on out there makes you wonder whats going on.
Just read a comment somewhere that likened Abbott’s action man complex to Putin’s. Now that is a scary thought.

When it comes to actual hardarskness my money would be on the ex KGB Lieutenant colonel
Most here have probably seen this but thought I’d post it up again. Just another side to Abbott’s lies & scumbaggery.
“Tony Abbott has declared fixing Australia’s greatest “national failure”, dire indigenous disadvantage, will be one of his personal priorities if he wins office.
Personally, I think it’s all talk. It’s just a display of feigned love.
This is just talk from the man who, when Indigenous people traveled for three days to get to Canberra to put their case to a Parliamentary committee, walked in late, didn’t apologise, sat down and then fell asleep.”

Nothing really new here but it seems the Sunshine Coast Daily is the only media source interested in Brough, Abbott, Pyne & Hockey trying to topple an elected government. Oh well, what the heck they’ll be in charge in a fortnights time but not if I can help it.

You wonder whether suspending the campaign is going to be a + or a – for KR.
gigilene – it will be judged as a desparate failure for Rudd, but an overwhelming statesmanlike positive for TA. You just know how that’s how it will be reported.
hj1
From past observations, in an atmosphere of war, the + was with the incumbent. But you’re right, it won’t happen this time. TA and JB will steal the show.
Peter Hartcher has excelled by writing the most god awful suck up opinion piece I think I have ever had the misfortune to read. No need to mention who it is about & I’m not posting the link, the sadists here can go find it themselves.
Apparently the abbott has been instructed to hightail it to Canberra for his Syria briefing!
janice
Yes, by Peta
TA, if he wins, will end up doing a lot of delegation. At first he didn’t want to go to Canberra, felt he could just send JB; but now he’s decided to go. Someone told him that it would look better.
This is from a post at Cafe Whispers, I hope that’s OK?
Q: How many Liberals does it take to change a light globe?
A: None. They prefer to do nothing but blame Labor for the darkness.
A while ago I said that if Australia elected Abbott, I’d be less inclined to live here and look for job opportunities overseas.
That’s still my stance. Of course I can’t do anything until graduation in 2015, but if the worst happens in 2 weeks and that despicable maggot is elected, then loved and adored by the electorate even by then, then it’s likely goodbye.
New Zealand and Canada are high on my list as places to go to. Even though they now both have conservative governments, at least their conservatives aren’t anywhere near as comprehensively awful as Abbott. Plus Canada has a Murdoch-proof fence on the US border, and from what I hear, he’s not as influential in NZ either.
Also, ‘maggot’ seems to be an accurate word to describe Abbott and the Liberal party, how they seem to thrive on everything rotten in this country – selfishness, sexism, racism and ignorance.
The abbott will be a PM who travels the world to enter bike races/marathons and generally having fun doing photo shoots. He hasn’t enough between his ears to be any use engaging with world leaders and making decisions etc unless he has his puppetmaster at his side.
Kirsdarke
Googling up .”List of assets owned by News Corp” the wiki entry has nothing owned in NZ or Canada so it looks like both are fairly Rupert free.
Kirsdarke, I would decamp as well if it was even remotely possible.
