Good morning Dawn Patrolers.
News Ltd has nothing else other than disgraceful ethics. No mention of Abbott initially not being interested to attend (until Peta, probably, ordered him to).

Unfortunately we’ve got these demented, evil and lamebrained idiots in this country as well.
Yes janice. And fully protected from paying taxes.
My niece has had two chemo treatments during which she nearly died. She has now relapsed for the third time and is looking for alternative healing possibilities. She’s 29. I have lost all my faith in chemo after the death of my sister during this horrid treatment which is in some/many cases death rather than cure. I understand that it is a dilemma for many people. All depends on how advanced the cancer is.
Some good news – the Macquarie Radio Network which runs 2GB and 2CH has released their end of year financial report and it’s bad news for them. The report shows a significant drop in revenue -$3.2 million – “mainly as a result of the events surrounding Alan Jones in September last year”.
http://www.radiotoday.com.au/news/whats-new/3221-macquarie-fy13-results-released.html
Audiences for Jones and Hadley have also been dropping all year.

gigilene,
I have seen many come through chemo with successful outcomes but many others who suffered dreadfully for nothing. A nephew was diagnosed with a rare and particularly aggressive cancer when he was just 15 years old – the original prognosis was terminal yet his parents were persuaded that surgery, followed by chemo, would prolong his life. So, the poor lad underwent the treatment and spent the last three months of his life suffering the ghastly pain of chemo and his parents are still scarred by the guilt they feel for putting him through this treatment, made worse by the fact that they learned after his death that they weren’t told that the odds for the treatment even working to prolong his life for even a week, were absolutely zero.
Leone,
Couldn’t happen to a more deserving media network – I hope they end up bankrupt.
gigilene
What can I say? That’s not good news . I’ve been through the chemo thing, it is not pleasant, but I believe it saved my life. I was told I had at best six months left, even with chemo which was intended only to be palliative, not a cure. That was in 1990 and I’ve had no problems since then. I was given a copy of Ian Gawler’s book back then and found it helpful.

Tom Watson MP has arrived

Now let’s see what damage he can do to Rupert while he is here. He is on Q&A tomorrow but I guess he’ll make quite a few appearances elsewhere as well.
BK
Thank you for devoting every morning for links, it is a fruitless task getting even more so. The cartoons are about the only truth in the papers lately. Pity the radio and tv can’t all be cartoons.
janice and leone
We all have our own personal stories to tell, some are sad, some are good. Personally, I went through breast cancer twice without radio or chemo therapies, and I’ve never regretted my decision. I have been on remission for 13 years now.
leone, I will refer your book to my sister and her daughter. Thanks.
More good news –
“Some of the world’s largest companies have dropped financial support and membership of free-market think tank the Institute of Public Affairs amid concern at its vociferous campaign against action on climate change.”
ExxonMobil and Shell have left, so have BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto.

Morning all
No surprise first cab off the rank on Insiders is News Ltd’s attack on Rudd over the Syria briefing. Barry now interrogating Rudd in minutia over the timeline. Insider’s really is a worthless fluff piece.
Mike,
What’s more important than that?!
OH Christ! It’s ANOTHER mea culpa!!!!
And to the same interviewer!
Barrie Cassidy mustn’t be able to believe his luck!
KR looks mournful. Suits him better than his usual happy vegemite smile.
Cassidy has his gotcha.
“So you’re admitting you made mistakes?:”
He’s like a kid in a lolly shop. He’s nearly wetting his pants.
The only headline over this will be: “Rudd: I got it wrong.”
I never watch. Anyway the only Mea Culpa I’d want to hear from Rudd is how sorry he was for white-anting such a successful government.
Cassidy now inviting Rudd to criticise Gillard. Using his own words against him.
Rudd replies by damning Gillard with faint praise.
“Oh, she did some good stuff on schools testing, and during the GFC when I was PM.”
The NBN is just another item on the tick and flick list.
He’s now being asked whether he’d grateful that Gillard supporters aren’t termiting this campaign.
Says he doesn’t want to get into that.
I’ll bet he doesn’t.
Rudd always seems to get close to the killer point, then shys away from it.
Thanks for the warning…I was going to tune into the first few minutes of Insiders to get the gist..will now avoid the useless bastards!
If Rudd had any brains at all he could do himself an abbott whitewash and lay the blame for the ‘catastrophic polls’ for Labor under Gillard at the feet of the abbott, the press and the shockjocks who poisoned the public against the leader of the highest achieving Labor Govt this country has ever seen.
Insiders now running what amounts to a Liberal Party commercial for them on “Mr. Rude”.
Journos now admitting that there’s nothing to the Lily Fontana Make-Up story, but saying it’s a bad look that journos kept it alive.
Of course, whichever way you look at it and whether Rudd will ever even admit it to himself, he carries a load of guilt for his own behaviour after he got ditched. The abbott, on the other hand, is very adept at transferring his own rotten character flaws on someone else.
I take it NunKiss is a NonStory.
I still think we go into this election 50 / 50, with the deciding votes being cast by the Labor women proffesional vote…; going to either the Greens out of anger or to Labor out of recognition of the necessity of keeping the “filth” from office.
OK, you have convinced me that Rudd is not fit to be PM. So after 57 years of voting Labor I should be voting for Tony Abbott, the only alternative.
How many excuses can these abbott backers come up with? They all know bloody well they’ve been backing a mob of incompetents so why are still willing to sell the bullshit to voters: what do they expect to get out of a government run by idiots?
TLBD
Yes no nun non-story.
Some people are unfit for office. Some people are more unfitter than others.
Maybe if that nun had put some comments on her Facebook page about her up close and personal with Abbott……..
kaffeeklatscher,.
If it had been Kevvie it would have been Profumo II
Cheer up, peoples. We may yet get the ideal outcome from this election. That is that both Rudd and the abbott lose their seats and Labor is returned to office.
Insider’s – we’re all going to take it up the **** come September 7 despite everything that is wrong with the Coalition because that’s what the media has decreed & their not going to bother telling the public what’s wrong with the Libs budget blackhole because we’re all going to take it up the **** come September 7 despite everything that is wrong with the Coalition because…………………repeat endlessly until the hypnotic trance guides your hand to cross 1 LNP on the ballot paper.
I saw a few minutes of Rudd on Insiders – I turned the TV on and there he wa, getting croiss about the Syrian crisis briefing. From what I saw it was a very poor performance. I changed the channel in disgust. In just a few minutes Rudd missed several opportunites to blast Abbott, boast about Labor’s record and acknowledge Julia Gillard’s achievements. Not impressed.
BB,
We have a simple choice. LNP led by Abbott or ALP led by Rudd. Make up your mind. Nothing is achieved by the continual criticism of the ALP leader. A majority of Caucus support him, righty or wrongly. I, too admired Julia, but my belief in the Party is stronger than my belief in any leader. Julia’s time is over, move on !

Rudd acted like he knew Barry was going to crucify him & that’s what happened. Maybe he has bigger issues on his mind but watching it I was wondering why he bothered showing up.
Morning, all!

It is interesting. At a guess, if Abbott wins, he’ll make a big fanfare about “repealing the Carbon tax” and try to make the ALP-Greens uncomfortable about resisting in the Senate, but… he may not be too broken-hearted about being knocked back as long as he can blame someone else.
If industry is adapting to climate change he might fall in line. Even an idiot like Abbott must know that Direct Action is a charade.
Rudd doing a better job of the presser now on 24 than he did with Insider’s. Did he go straight from the show to this, maybe that’s why he looked distracted?
Well, at least there’s some good news.

C’mon now, fess up, you have our house bugged. That is exactly what Razz and I were saying the other day.
There is a certain kind of immaturity in KR. Even more so in TA. Look at him, boyishly jumping and running in his silly shorts. Are we supposed to enjoy his fun? The man is over 50!!! At least KR doesn’t try to advertise his athleticism. Their bodies, in this age group, are best seen in a suit. Both men fail to be truthful, because the truth often hurts; TA hides his costings, KR hides JG’s achievements. These are signs of weakness.
I forgot to add, Razz then asked who would lead Labor. All the ones I could nominate have left, so who?
