Xmas is over

Well Tragics, Xmas time is over and Pb will resume tommorow.

This little blog will not disappear,it will still be here with a new post every week or so and maybe more surprises.

It will be a haven for you people that wish to have a break from the argy-bargy of pb,and just want to have a bit of a chat.

Talk about Politics,  Cricket,Tennis,Wildlife,Trucks,Aviation, etc, put up a you tube link or photo, whatever.

The overriding  theme will always be the political scene in Australia and especially the 2013 Federal election.

The same rules will always apply

Treat other posters how you would wish to be Treated.

  1. From the end of the last thread.

I hope somehow the terms of reference and the way the Royal Commission is set up are fireproofed such that, in the unthinkable event of Abbott getting in to power, it cannot be watered down or neutered.
Never forget that George Pell is still hovering around.

  2. Thought I would re-post as well BK…

Thanks To Joe, BB, Fiona and C@t for this site and their contributions, it has been a pleasure lurking and making the odd post. Hats off to those of you fighting fires, and I wish everyone here a good year. I am confident it will be a happier one for ALP supporters than most in the MSM are predicting.

Unfortunately I am banned over at PB (My fault, I told William to ban me, but I thought it would be temporary. I don’t want to try on a new user account). I was too easily baited by the repetitive one’s anyway, so it’s probably a good thing 🙂 

I will be lurking as the polls turn against the best efforts of the MSM (although Ch7 news seems to be quite kind to Gillard in recent times). 

At this rate Brandis is going to have to put a dress on and say his feminine side supports Tony. #auspol

  4. Thanks j6p. Glad the place will continue, as it’s been a lovely little peaceful blog for us PB regulars. 🙂

  5. Thank you all ffor the thougthful comments- and the information which NEVER appears in the MSM.Joe6 pack, BB, Fiona, & C@t you’ve done a terrific job- Glad to hear that you wills till be here= the argy bargy at PB can get a bit tiresome:)
By the way I belive there is a senate enquiry into theAbC and submissons have to be in by Jan 18th–
I’ve never done anything like that – but I think ABC is not presenting news in a Balanced manner. They are suppose dto give both side of an argument and disclose anything which is lkiely to bias them.
    Wiser heads can you advise?

  6. The only downside to PB opening its doors again tomorrow…

bemused will be in full tanty mode about this site — expect some of his greatest hits:

“I was banned for speaking the truth!”

“I was banned because I defended myself!”

    and the old favorite…

    “They started it!”

  7. Many thanks Joe6pack. This has been a peaceful refuge and it is great news that the blog will continue. I look forward to visiting through 2013.

  8. Joe6pack, Bushfire Bill, C@tmomma and Fiona. Thank you all for the great site.
I was so relieved to read you will keep going here. I know a few of you have encouraged a few of us PBlurkers to ‘come out’ over there, but I don’t think I could.
I will keep on keeping on here if that is okay. It has been great ‘talking’ with you all after just reading you all since PB started.

Tobe, you have been around for a long time, you tried to encourage me to comment on another blog……I chickened out.

    Crikey Whitey
Haven’t seen you around for ages, hope all is well.

Again thank you to everyone here, you have made the last few weeks enjoyable. I had planned to catch up on a lot of bookmarks, but spent most of my spare time here, and it has been fantastic.

  9. zoomster – Tobe should just ask William to ‘un-ban’ him and ignore the specific posts.

  10. I’m actually coming over for a chess admin meeting + quick tournament which is on the Wednesday. Tuesday I have at least one meeting-before-the-meeting scheduled so I’m pleased that’s the hot one if there has to be one, rather than Thurs/Fri when I really will go to the beach!

    confessions:

“43 in Sydney means humidity as well.

    Yuk!”

Yikes, humid high 20s turn my brain into a pumpkin, not sure how I’ll handle that! Stock up on drinks the day before for sure.

  11. Tobe:

Can’t you just ask William to un-ban you? It seems to work for other commenters who are way more abusive than you.

  12. The humidity arrives in Sydney more in February. The air is very dry ATM.

Might be a reminder of 1 January 2006 where it was 46 until relieved by the mother of all southerly busters.

  13. I would ask one thing that we have none of the intra-blog snipping like what happened last year with another unnamed poster. WB dosen’t need it and I have no desire for it to start. I expect a bit but will ignore it as I hope most of you do

  14. confessions,

I’m not sure how to ask William to be un-banned. I will try an apologetic post and see if that works. To be honest I was getting a bit tired of the repetitive ones and my own inability to ignore them, I might stay lurking and see if they relent.

  15. shellbell:

Maybe it’s just my mother, but it seems she is always complaining about the humidity in Sydney. She was moaning about it to me only the other day.

Meanwhile here it is 25 degrees and 83% humidity, after a mid-30s day with humidity hovering between 60-70%. To say it’s stifling is an understatement.

  16. [I would ask one thing that we have none of the intra-blog snipping like what happened last year ]

I’m zany enough but even I didn’t post there!

  17. Tobe:

You could always send him an email. That seems to work with others.

    j6p:

I’d hate it if this place became that. A refuge from the ‘argy bargy’ as you describe it, is infinitely preferable.

  18. to be where u banned i dont believe it,

i just dropped by to tell the g w denialists
it may snow on wednesday on the highlands, now thats in the lakes area .2 hours drive from here
    —————————————–
there is fire on the n w coast i am worried about near family so will keep my eye on that one

but snow, as u know mhy hearing is not good and i ask oh to confirm
he said, well thats what i heard

so wed. here 18 but colder in the highlands

to be i am not posting on pb, and any way no vote would chnage with what i say.

now back to my favouite type of shows resturation of old homes

  19. Thanks Joe, BB, C@tmomma, fiona & PBX posters. Very happy to hear that PBX will remain open. Looking forward to fighting the Noalition in this election year 2013.

  20. Tobe – e-mail William and just say you’ll just respond with ‘Sick of turkey posts’.

The rest of us will know what you mean.

Then just get on with chipping in. Easy.

  21. My say’s observations about the idiosyncrasies of Tassie weather remind me of the 1994 bush fires in Sydney which I left only to be confronted by knee deep snow on Cradle Mountain 24 hours later.

  22. Joe6Pack,

I would ask one thing that we have none of the intra-blog snipping …

I completely agree, and by token have deleted my earlier comment.

  23. Confessions,

Thanks, I’ll look for his email addy.

    J6p,

Re-reading… my last post might come off as a bit blunt… I meant “Don’t worry, I don’t want to bring down the great atmosphere you have here”

  24. denese:

Glad you are safe, but hope your family and friends in bushfire-affected areas are okay.

  25. “imacca, did you see my reply to you on the previous thread?”

No HSO, and when i just went back to look and cant see one from you ater my 5:55 post??

  26. I note that some PBXers have visited Gordonsthoughts today. I take it you all noticed the 3 or 4 comments from a particular poster who was banned here.

It appears no lesson has been learned, since all his posts there are comments about other posters. None contain any attempt to put a case about any issue.

Thank you Joe6 for this blog. Thanks also to C2t, BB, FJR, BK for your links, and anyone else working behind the scenes. I’ve only posted a handful of times but have visited several times daily to keep informed, and was duly rewarded every visit.

  27. If we were doing another week here I was thinking of demanding that rummel post with the finger and as rummused.

  28. Seems the Credlin story has sunk, as we expected it would because nobody believes it.

Having nailed her colours so firmly to ABbott’s mast, breaking free might be a mite more difficult than she imagines.

  29. psyclaw

What does the poster you refer to, gordongraham (aka spur on PB) and possum have in common?

  30. victoria – I’m probably going to agree with you, but do we have to? See Fiona above.

  31. ‘fess

[Seems the Credlin story has sunk,]

That was all it was ever going to do.

    Chemicals in a ‘fridge ?
