  1. Thousands of people attended rallies in support of asylum seekers today. The Guardian presented the least biased coverage.

All the rest mentioned ‘hundreds’ of protestors and dismissed them as ‘church-goers’, with Their ABC just dismissing it all by saying marches were led by ‘nuns and retired bishops’.

You don’t have to be a ‘churchgoer’ to want to protest against this government’s treatment of asylum seekers. What about the prominent self-promoting ‘church-goers’ conspicuous by their absence today – Morrison, Andrews, and all the other God-botherers on the government benches who make such a huge deal of their ‘Christian’ beliefs?.

  2. In fact they promised that the Doncaster and Rowville lines would be built and that they would build a rail link to Avalon.

  3. We always knew that Abbott believes a university education should only be for those who can pay up front, and should only cover traditional areas. It’s not surprising he would ask some of his buddies to concoct a ‘review’ recommending exactly his long-held opinion.

Interesting question – how does he feel about his daughter completing a degree in fashion design and going for a masters in the same thing? It’s hardly the classical education he thought universities should offer when he did his now infamous ‘women simply doing housework’ radio interview back in his own uni days.

Here it is, if you’ve forgotten or haven’t heard it.
