  1. I just want PMJG to have a clear run, a fair go. And all she will get is six months, IF the MSM doesn’t screw it up for her.

The absolute waste by R#ddstoration makes me feel like weeping with rage.

  2. Hallowe’en jack re Springsteen
Tom Joad left me dazed and confused….. If I can pick a couple of words at random. It is a powerful song to start with and then Morello takes over and the thing lifts off as he goes berserk on the guitar. It was cathartic.

I am really glad most of my week was taken up with the two concerts as the political events on their own were depressing. right now I feel energised and positive even about Labor’s chances . It is not impossible just difficult and it must come down to a choice between two and the decks are being cleared to make that choice stark.

I could not help singing last night “come on Tony bring on your wrecking ball, take your best shot, let me see what you got, bring on your wrecking ball. If you got the guts mister if you got the balls, bring on your wrecking ball.”
Like I said it was cathartic.

  3. I had a nice comfy, interesting lounge going over there, till the vandals and gatecrashers arrived. I did not mind them coming in. but why did they have to wreck the place?

  4. Puffy,

What impressed me at last Thursday attempt to SSOs was JGPM’s blast:

We will ensure that our eyes remain focused on the opportunities for Australians and the benefits they need, and we will fight and fight and fight the Leader of the Opposition’s campaign to take opportunity away from Australians, to visit cutbacks on their head, to make sure that they are hurt the same way they have been hurt by governments like the Newman
government. We will fight and fight and fight that, and when the election is held in September, we will prevail in that election, because the choice will be so clear, and the right path for a stronger, smarter, fairer future will be so clear as well.

The lady has copious sleeves and lots up them.

  5. Good morning Dawn Patrollers.
I’ve just got time to poke my head up and say that yesterday my daugter’s weddoing day was an absolute cracker. I was amazed that such a beautiful woman could have sprung from my loins. I could not have been a prouder man.
Now it’s time to ready the place again – this time for about 30 people coming for lunch with the newlyweds to share in the opening of their preesents.
And the Adelaide Ovaal scoreboard did display have my dad’s and Don Bradmans’s names with a century agianst weach. My mother, as expected, was very much overcome when she saw it. So was my brother.
Catch you all later – probably tomorrow morning.

Happy Birthday Cherub! 12 years ago you added a depth & breadth to my life I never envisaged possible. Have a fantastic day Beautiful Soul!

  7. Great news, BK. So pleased it went so well as that, and well done. Congratulations too to Spacey, we can share some of the joy with both of you.

  8. Don’t you love how Nikki Savva thinks she knows how to put together a Labor team? And the old befuddled Hendersen giving his opinion on who JG should appoint as replacements for their toadies who’ve been outed and disgraced. Who the hell do they think they are?

  9. I just emailed this to a Tory mate:

    Fair enough. But consider this.

The polls have been at 55 to 45 for months with variations within the Margin of Error, even if they can be believed, despite the shrieking tabloid hysteria. We are now sure that the Ruddrat and his mates have been leaking, destabilising and consorting with the enemy all along. Further, Rabbott has had a long foot rub from the Media – no hard questions, no hard interviews, even the ABC starting ‘News’ items with “The Leader of the Opposition says ….” And the Media have given JG their best shot. No PM ever has had the constant flogging that JG has had. Ever.

So with traitors in the ranks and the Media constantly hammering Labor the Polls are still 55 to 45. That’s it. They’ve given it their best shot and their magazine is prettymuch empty and JG is still standing, still smiling, still gracious, still unbowed and as tough as old boots. Rabbott said, “She won’t lay down and die” and she got him. With that comment Rabbott blinked.

Now the decks are clear, RuddRat is neutralised (and no one will ever trust Chicken Kev again), Labor has a Budget and the Media Laws to come, the Economy is World’s Best, the NBN is rolling out, PMJG is the incumbent and they need >5% is all with a track record to be proud of for all to see.

On the other side, Howard’s Retreads are all old, dumb and have been beaten before, and their Leader is an untrusted, proven idiot. Liars, No Policies.

My money is a lot safer than yours ……. 

    CREAN, RUDD AND WTF?
    March 23, 2013 · by Drag0nista

If you’ve been left wondering what the hell happened this week in federal politics, you need to think back to June 2010. Remember how former Prime Minister Rudd was unceremoniously dumped as captain of the Labor team? This came as a shock to everyone but the parliamentarians involved.

  13. Gawd, Insiders are a miserable lot. Someone send a truckload of Anti-depressents around before they jump of the end of the pier!

  14. Is Fiona around? Her twitter account is sending out weight loss spam. Time to reset the password!

  15. A run-down of Albo on Agenda this morning. Albo’s apperance had been organised weeks ago, not as a result of Thurdsday’s events.

Paul Kelly summed up the events of Thursday like this, Albo said it was a pretty accurate account –

Rudd was never fully committed to a leadership challenge. The conditions
he had always put on a challenge made it highly unlike he ever would. He wanted the party to come to him. There was a communications breakdown on Thursday. Crean was meant to stir things along and so bring more caucus members over to Rudd. Rudd was surprised and shocked by what Crean did, it was not expected or asked for. It was correct of Rudd not to challenge. Julia Gillard showed she had nerve and tactical superiority over Rudd, a lesser PM would have folded under the pressure.

Albo repeated that he would never support a spill against a sitting PM. There was no deal with Rudd for him to be deputy PM. There might have been once. Albo and Rudd have been good friends for years, Rudd approached him with the idea of bieng his deputy in 2005 when he was thinking of a leadership challenge, Albo didn’t accept then.

Albo had two discussions with Rudd on Thursday. In the morning he asked Rudd if his position had changed, it had not. In the afternoon Rudd said he would not challenge. What Rudd was saying privately was the same as what he was saying publically – he would not challenge. (We all know what he wanted though, that was not discussed.)

Albo said that the conditions Rudd had always put on a return to the leadership were not there. He (Albo) was of the opinion the PM would remain in her position and has always maintained that since February 2010.

Was he supporting a return to Rudd until he saw the numbers? No. He was actually doing his job. He was in the house doing just that when he was reported as being at a Rudd meeting. He didn’t even know there was going to be a leadership spill at first because he was busy in the house doing his job. He went to Rudd’s office in the afternoon because he needed to know what Rudd was doing, he had to run the parliament.

Albo has complete confidence in the PM, he says we can see that every day.

Would Albo deny speaking to people in caucus like Mark Butler, urging them to commit to Rudd? Yes he would deny that, people can make up their own minds on who they support.

Were the resignations made under duress? He didn’t know.

What did he think of Laurie Ferguson saying on Facebook that Albo and Butlker were gutless for not resigning? Albo said Laurie has a long history of making unfavourable comments, implied ‘Who cares what Laurie says’.

There was more. Albo was very up-beat, wasn’t taking any crap from the panel, he shut them up when they tried the usual ‘But, but…’ interruptions and just kept talking. He refused to say a bad word about anyone. A very successful interview, even if he was much too nice to Rudd.

  16. Watching Sava struggling to be a legitimate commentator when she is so incompetent is sad and sickening!

  17. Asking Pyne for credit for toughness is like asking a wet-lettuce for its opinion of a soggy speghetti!

  18. C@t…I turned the the little Pyle off as son as he dropped the needle on to the “replay-replay” track!

  19. The OM. hacks are giving us their OM. opinions on cabinet posts…I notice Sava and henderson have both put the mozz on Gary Grey for mining…But I have a sneaky feeling that the PM. will drop a bomshell on this lot and do something completely different!……….I may be wrong…but I’d be ready to back it!

  20. When O when is Bazz Cazz going to pension off these old OM. dinosaurs and get in some fresh faces and ideas from the fifth estate!?
