This post will stay at the top of the page. It contains instructions on basic HTML, and how to post vids etc.on the blog. It will get added to as time goes on. Enjoy.
Handy HTML to use at The Pub
Some emoticons:
: ) = SMILE
; ) = WINK
: lol: = LAUGH OUT LOUD
: grin: = GRIN
: razz: = RASPBERRY (though not a very good one)
: ( = FROWN / SAD
: oops: = BLUSH / OOPS
HOWEVER – make sure you omit the first space in the HTML command, or it won’t work!
To save the excruciating torture C@tmomma has inflicted on herself, I report this from the Way-Back Machine:
PLEASE NOTE: THE {} CURLY BRACKETS ARE NOT REQUIRED. THEY’RE THERE FOR EMPHASIS ONLY.
To post images from the web…
<img src="{ADDRESS OF IMAGE HERE IN QUOTES}" / >
Notes:
1. To get the address of the image, right click on it and use “COPY IMAGE LOCATION” OR “COPY IMAGE URL” (N.B. NOT “COPY IMAGE” or “COPY LINK LOCATION”)
2. The Forward slash before the concluding > character is said to be essential, but the technique sometimes works without it.
To post images AS LINKS to other web sites, posts, images etc…
If you want to include both the image AND a link to an article you can present both and make the image “clickable” to take readers to the link. That is, clicking on the image will automatically take you to the link as well.
Use this format:
<a href="{ADDRESS OF LINK HERE IN QUOTES}"><img src="{ADDRESS OF IMAGE HERE IN QUOTES}" / ></a>
To make hyperlinks (words you click on to link to another site, photo or post)…
<a href="{ADDRESS OF LINK HERE IN QUOTES}">{WORDS THAT COMPRISE THE LINK e.g. NEW THREAD}</a>
Example of what we do to link to a thread:
<a href="https://pbxmastragics.com/2013/02/22/the-pied-piper-of-the-sky/">NEW THREAD</a>
…
comes out as NEW THREAD
YouTubes…
Cut and paste the YouTube address from the YouTube address bar directly into your post here.

To Italicise any piece of text:
<i>{TEXT HERE can be any length} </i>

To Strike Out (place a line through) any piece of text:

More to come as I discover them…

TWITTER LINKS
To post a graphical representation of a twitter link, e.g.:
1. Hover over the tweet and look for the list of options at the bottom.
2. Click on MORE…
3. Select EMBED.
4. You will see a REALLY long complicated URL in a box.
5. It’ll probably be auto-highlighted, so just press Ctrl-C to COPY it. If it for some reason becomes un-highlighted, double-click on it to highlight it, and then COPY (Ctrl-C).
6. Paste into The Pub’s comment box.
7. What you want is the bare bones of the twitter “embed” address. Cut the following red highlighted bits out…
8. Leaving just this… (make sure you hit ENTER to place your cursor on the next, empty line… the Twitter embed function needs the Twitter address on its own line)
9. You tweet will appear in “twitter format” (complete with pictures if any).
